Surgery Postponed
After arriving at the hospital and getting prepared for surgery, the physician's assistant notified us that James' white blood cell count was too low to do surgery. It is very sad for James because he is in such awful pain. There is a serious risk of infection following surgery with such a low blood count. We are ultimately grateful that the surgeon wouldn't proceed with surgery that might come at such a cost to James' health, although it was hard to hear. We are hopeful for a higher white blood cell count and surgery next week on Monday or Tuesday. We are especially hopeful that an operation won't interfere with chemo next week. Thanks again for all of the kind thoughts.
